Afito's Adventures

Hello,

The name's afiah. I'm currently 18, and I get a year older on the 29th of April.
Because of how this world is no place for a mind or a thought, I feel it best to manifest my ideas into the virtual world. After all, my global position systems are vocally addressed. Oh, and you could say that I can get a teeny bit mental at times.

After painstakingly completing the whole 23 pages of the ecareers survey, this is what I've gotten:

I'm so happy. I sort of knew before doing this survey what I wanted to do in life, but not till that extent. It specifies exactly what type of career matches you. Hahaha. Oh my gosh.

I'm surprised I didn't get psychologist. :( I know I want to help people in life. Well that's the one thing I'm sad about, and the fact that there's nothing on that list which has any relation to nature. As far as I remembered, I rated a good scale for the ones related to nature and the ones on helping people.

Oh well.

This ecareers thing is only one-sided. They will only look into one aspect of careers. Geez.

I'm so sad that the jobs offered for me offers low salary cause these jobs are not big in Singapore.

Why? Singapore is not big on arts. >:(

Oh gosh no offence or anything but I kinda hate it when I go to random blogs and suddenly there's background music.

I don't care about the kind of music they play i just can't stand it cause it makes me jump everytime cause the speakers are really loud.

So on behalf of other people who jump(literally) when some kind of music comes from some blog background music, I won't put music.

1) Because I feel for the faint-hearted
2) I am not tech-savvy enough to put songs in blog backgrounds

Note to self: Off speaker before visiting other's blogs.

The first after running.

The second after the two spazzes Ashiqa & Syaz spun me round and round at the playground.

I hate the feeling.

Lazy to put up pictures.

Save it for the morning after.

I have been changing my PM in msn in reply to people's PMs without them realising?

Hahaha. It's fun especially when some contacts of yours are minahs.

Without them realising, you are actually making fun of them?

Isn't that fun?

I just had a haircut and I think the aunty over-layered my hair.

Now I look like a fruit.

No, actually I think I look like a betty. With the short hair and aprons cooking fried eggs at a diner. Dunno why but the hair reminds me of 60s hair. I'm not perasaan-ing or anything but I just think the hair is like the post modern look.

Whatever. Enough bout the hair.

Adam Lambert has voice higher than me or than a woman's!
What theeeeeeeee. His vocal range is crazy ass awesome. And no, I'm not really attracted to him I just don't. Not that I can, problem is I can't. I don't know, his face just doesn't appeal to me. Good-looking yes, appealing no. No no no no. And no la kakak he doesn't look like the 4th Jonas Brother please don't insult Adam by comparing him to a Jonas Brother.

I am a sour apple.

And that is why I have no worries that insects will infest me due to sugary sweetness.

Hahaha this is just so super hilarious. Believe it, and no nots, I got 65/50 for my geography re-exam.

I am not kidding. I thought it was some kind of hoax. I couldn't believe it either. Until I saw it for myself in black and white.

It's the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me. But I think it's not a first for Mr.Gerald.

But whatever. I am thankful to get marks which are impossible to get. Alhamdulillah.

Maybe prayers works in weird ways. Since I wished that I would at least pass this test, I got unbelievably weird marks. :O

I am otherwise happy, cause this is the first time i got an A1! :D

Anyways, yesterday started out totally suckish. But it was kinda worthwhile to wear my NPCC uniform. Kinda looks good.

The geography re-exam made my day. Heh.

And to top it all off like whipped cream on my favourite coffee bean vanilla ice blended, i saw double rainbows yesterday from my house.See that? One is so bright but the other is sort of faded. It's so beautiful I love how the colours blend perfectly. There's two if you look carefully.

It's like one of those nature's miracles which I really really like. But nothing beats sunrise in the morning. :D

So wonderful.

I have been coughing like shizz until my chest hurts. Really hurts. I sound like an elephant every time i batuk.

Except that mine comes from the throat, not the nose.

Ugh.

I just presented my news article today and I really have no idea why my hands were shaking. I get weird seizures at weird moments. Anyhoo, I wasn't scared or anything but i really don't understand why my left hand was shaking. Reflex action i guess.

Twitch twitch.

Ooh spazzy.

I just came back from the Peranakan museum and it was awesome. Too bad there was too little time, I didn't get to read all the exhibits!

I particularly love the syair written on the museum wall and I love everything about the Peranakan museum. I wanna go again! I like the way they write malay, it's like old malay or malay mixed with Chinese. It's awesome.

Just as I am typing malay i see the word 'malay' underlined in red at the bottom, meaning, malay is not in the dictionary.

This is so unbelievably outrageous. How can they not include the word malay in the dictionary? Are we really that insignificant? Or are the westerners all just dumb or is there something wrong with blogger?

Anyways, on the slip of paper with the feedback on the learning journey they asked "what other things do I wish to learn from this Learning Journey" or something like that. I wrote "I wonder why there is racial discrimination in Singapore when the Peranakans can accept another's culture very well?".

Well, if someone were to read that I think I would get scolded for being insensitive or insulting or whatever crap but I am just stating what I feel. Really. If peranakans are straight from China people shipped to Malaysia and can adapt to malay culture very well, I don't see why there were racial riots in the 19th century though peranakans existed long before that. Right?

Expressing your opinions is the politically right thing to do but when we do this we are not stating things which are politically right. Am I right? This is so contradictory and I can't stand it. I don't like contradictory things its just so..............frustrating.

Yes! Finally Duffy won something at the Grammys! It's time she won something. She won best pop vocal album for her album Rockferry.

Anyways, I just listened to Adele the first time and she sounds like Duffy + Amy Winehouse mixed together. Kinda weird, but her voice is still nice nevertheless.

I am also blogging here to announce happily that I am sprouting rashes once again! And this time it's on my arms.

Stupid rashes. Ooh and partial fractions keeps me awake!

Oh I'm really really hooked to those slow songs that Liana sent me.

I really really really like them, especially the ones from The Cardigans and Blondelle.

No offence, but I was kinda freaked out when Liana showed me Cocoon- Bjork. The video is artistic, yes, I agree, but it was really freaky.

Don't watch it, you're gonna get nightmares, like me!

Anyhoo, really nice songs Liana!

I want moarrrrrrr.

Heh, it's really nice when you listen to it at night, it's very slow, and it's kinda like those slow slow songs you listen on class 95 which makes you sad yet you'll never know the title of the song.

Coolness! Now I have moarrr songssss!

Woo! I can't believe that there's very very little homework this week, for the whole week. It's so unbelievable. Are pigs flying? I hope not. Having little homework? Is there a blue moon?

Whatever it is, I feel so happy yet thankful, I can finally get a proper rest. Went out yesterday with family and ate at CCK.

Wasn't much, the food was good, but I didn't finish it.

I want to shop, it's been so long since I went shopping. Not only that, I haven't eaten fast food in ages!

I just listened to 'You know I'm no good' by Amy Winehouse and I realised she's slurring the first part of the song. The song is still nice though, and I still love her songs.

I'm going to madrasah soon. Looking forward to it. Not the first lesson, but the last two. :)

I just realised that ONTD has a nice new purple layout.

title : Yeah but no but yeah but no but hell yeah we had fun!
So today, me and Ashiqa went to Clarke Quay, to her father's shop. Why? Because it was half-day and because (according to Ashiqa) it's the only place to get free food. This is gonna be a super picture-y post, cause I'm kinda tired right now, to write about everything, and, I have alottttttt of pictures, which I am sure people will like, I mean, who actually reads the whole chunk of text of nonsense that Afiah writes, anyways? I was actually rather upset when Ashiqa told me that her father's shop was just set up, so that means, no indian food for me. :( Wouldn't it be awesome if there was nasi briyani? My love.

So prepare yourself, sit back, and enjoy the pictures.
P.S I look retarded, as always. But whatever. (Click to enlarge)

The most wonderful thing about Clarke Quay is that they have all these awesome looking boats which I wish to own and sail around to the other side of the world. :O

So finally, after years and years of walking, we finally reached Ashiqa's father's restaurant! Which is AWESOME by the way. :)
I got bored of waiting for foodehs, so I took a picture of Ashiqa with her unreturned class key. Ashiqa you in trouble girl. Heh. Ashiqa was so worried, but it's okay, they're not gonna punish us because of that.
I was hyperventilating when I found out that there was nasi briyani! Omg omg my briyani instincts/mulut masin-ness always comes true! I LOVE YOU ASHIQA'S DAD FOR THE BRIYANI! Briyani's the best. I'm hungry. :(

Well, after the quick lunch, we headed back to the riverside. To take moar picturesssss!
Okay okay enough on the scenery and crap, let's get serioussssssssss!

Hold on to your computer chair cause this is gonna get well, rather narcisstic i should say?
No, we're not vainpots nor narcissists. I'm sorry, I'm hysterical, but I just can't help it can't I? I'm just thankful I don't have OCD.

In the midst of taking pictures, two cute guys walked past. One blonde, one ginger haired. Ashiqa saw them too, and so I told Ashiqa that I like guys with wavy hair. And she went like this. And I just had to take a picture of her face. Her 'wtf afiah' face.

Okay, black & white shots.

Like one of those weird hair-blowing commercials. We were trying to pull of a 'fierce nigga-ish look' but as you can see, it didn't turn out well. Well, at least i flashed my two fingers. And ashiqa you didn't contribute! So much for being 'in da hood'.

Darn you!

It becomes clake quay. Click clake click clake click clake. *Makes the sound of horse hooves*

This was when we went to this like small cramped shopping centre and it was on the escalator when Ashiqa did this. O.O

We went to Charles & Keith and tried out some shades. The shades were awesome! I'd like to get them one day.

After walking and walking and walking we decided to head back to Ashiqa's father's shop to get nice drinks, eat desserts, and do A Math Differentiation! Wooooo!

Awesome lime soda drink. Out of the awesome choice of desserts, we took the normal cheesecake which was so delish! Me looking all stressed.
I ended up completing my work after the drink and the cheesecake, then we went to the nearby masjid to catch zohor. Very convenient masjid right in front of the shop.

Not really, but super near.

It was raining heavily then, when we left the masjid, so I took out my red umbrella, and we decided to do the raining-whilst-using-the-umbrella-under-a-victorian-street-lamp thing. You know, like those old english movies. The masjid is located at cumming street. Let's cum cum cum to cumming street. Cumming street is also near to Ashiqa's father's shop.

Then, me and Ashiqa decided to get a snack at 7-ll since I've been deprived of snacks and fast food since school started. (Which is a good thing, but it lowers my blood glucose concentration. I might get blood glucose deficiency or something) I bought a crunchie, and we shared it all the way to Clarke Quay MRT station. She dropped me before the overhead bridge, and we exchanged (what she called) good-bye kissies. I was actually thinking of doing the conventional yeah but no but yeah but *sizzles* thing. But she insisted on using the camera so.. yeah.

After I was at Clarke Quay MRT, it was so darn empty that I feel super claustrophobic. It really freaked me out. The whole stretch was empty! Yes, I was claustrophobic because there was no one, not because there were alot of people. You know, its that awful feeling like you're trapped in a huge metallic box underground. It sucks! The picture is really blur because i was shaking.

That's pretty much about it, we had lots of fun!

Update: Farah I can't believe you're into K-pop now! *slaps hand on face*

P.S Adding pictures restricts my writing! Darn!

title : Religious class post! And maybe some fishes...
Goodness gracious me.

Yesterday, during religious class, my ustazah told us that during akhir zaman (era close to the apocalypse), the ratio of males to females would be 1:10.

That's a massive difference!

I was right! From my previous post on metrosexuals.

I know my ustazah (or rather Quran) didn't mean it literally, I mean, look around us.

You see all this transgender people and trannies and gays and metrosexuals and everything and you know these groups of people already contribute to the female population.

Heh, I'm beginning to feel more and more interested towards religious classes. I'm sure Farah is too. Right, Farah?

My mum says that me and Farah are like twins, since we're almost inseparable. For one, if one doesn't attend the religious class, then neither would. Two, we've been in the same class in madrasah since primary 1, making her my longest friend (not literally). Three, Farah was really irritated/frustrated when me and her were put into different classes. Hahaha, that was the first time I've seen Farah so irritated like that.

I hope our vow to remain friends even after our madrasah education will last. We have plans. Hehe. And the day I told Farah my plan, she told me I put on a pervetic face. That wasn't intentional okay! Purely unintentional.

I like it when they relate science to religion, it's awesomeeeeeee.

Where have I been all these years?!?!

Really, I like the new ustazah and ustadz.

Woo I just touched my leg, and it feels like it feels so soft! Like like baby skin!

It feels like its been dipped into a tank of a swarm of turkish spa fish (no idea what the fishes are called)!

Ooh so soft so moist so cold.

I'm craving for sweet & sour fish now.
Thanks alot you swarm of turkish spa fishes! (though you're not edible)

I miss watching Whose Line Is It Anyway?. I can't watch it anymore sadly because school ends freaking late everyday, and the show is everyday at 5pm. In order to watch that, I have to leave school by 4pm, which is quite impossible if you ask me.

Sadzxzxz.

I don't like Charlie from Friends. Poor Ross & Joey.

I miss watching Heroes too. Season 3 has ended. This sucks. I hate Mohinder. I hate Nathan. I hate Tracy. (Is she dead yet?)

And most of all, I hate maths! For not letting me watch more TV during the weekends!
